Howdy folks
The MP3s available on this blog are from collections of western swing 78s and out-of-print LPs donated by a small group of devoted collectors. Our main purpose is to share and introduce to others this great and mostly unknown music. Here at WS on 78 we try not to post music that's available for purchase. So please don't request any CDs. And please support the Western Swing music labels by purchasing their CDs. Most barely make enough money to make their next release.
All downloads are compiled as ZIP or RAR files and need to extracted with Winzip, Winrar or any similar software.

Here are the last 6 radio shows that I have from the Johnnie Lee Wills Schmitt Transcription series. Hopefully I'll get some more of these great shows to post in the near future. Enjoy

I could listen to these all day , hope you find the rest some how , too bad someone does'nt have access to the actual radio achives if they do exist Steve
What a joy to hear these. I lived in Stillwater, OK in the 70s/80s and would stop by Johnnie Lee's Western Wear Store once or twice a year when I was in Tulsa. On a few occasions I remember him having free concerts in the parking lot of his store with Curly Lewis and other members of the old crew. What a wonderful treat that was.
And they were also the nicest people. Thanks so much for posting these. God bless the late great Johnnie Lee Wills!

These are great shows to listen to.
As an aside, can anyone recommend any recordings of old hymns in the style of what Johnnie Lee Wills has in the hymn portion of these broadcasts? Commercially available or downloadable if not commercially available. Many thanks.
